Refer a friend lets our customers introduce up to five friends or family members to Santander. When your friend or family member switches to a Santander 1|2|3, 1|2|3 Lite, Everyday, Select or Private current account you’ll each get £50 in Gift Cards.
  • Enter your name, date of birth, house number, postcode and email address into our simple form.
  • We’ll email you five unique codes which you can share.
  • Your friend or family member must apply to switch their current account to a Santander 1|2|3, 1|2|3 Lite, Everyday, Select or Private Current Account through the Current Account Switching Service (CASS). Their switch must start after your code has been provided.
  • When their switch is complete and their old account has been closed, they have until 18 June 2019 to visit this website and claim the Gift Cards for both of you using the code you’ve given them and a few other details.
  • Within 30 days of the claim being submitted and the switch completing, you’ll both receive an email containing a £50 Gift Cards. If for some reason the claim wasn’t successful we’ll also let you know via email.
You can refer up to five people per year as we’ll give you five unique codes. We’ll send you one email with all five codes but remember each code will only work once, so take care when you share!
Please check your spam folder. If the email isn’t there, you’ll need to start the referral code registration from the beginning.
Yes, but you can’t refer yourself. If you’ve been referred by someone else, you can qualify for the offer by using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) to switch an account with another bank to an eligible Santander account. The Santander account can either be a new account which you’ve just opened or one which you’ve had for some time, but the non-Santander account will need to be closed as part of the Current Account Switch.
If you have a joint account each account holder can get 5 codes. If you have more than one account with us, you may only have 5 codes.

This is an 18 character reference number starting with ‘FSWI’ which is on the letter we’ve posted to you about your account switch. Take a look at the image below to find out where exactly you can find it. If you don’t have this letter anymore you can contact our dedicated account switch team 0800 085 2202.

No, provided you complete a CASS switch, ensure your non-Santander account is closed, and meet the other terms of the offer you’ll receive the incentive. Please note that depending on the account you choose to switch to, there could be additional qualifying criteria in order to receive any cashback/interest associated with the account.
There could be several reasons your claim hasn’t met the Terms and Conditions of the offer, including:
  • you/your friend didn’t switch to a qualifying product
  • you/your friend switched to a qualifying product but didn’t claim via the referral process within the promotion dates
  • you/your friend switched to a qualifying account but the switch hasn’t been successfully completed
  • the referral code has already been used to successfully claim a reward
  • the referral code was issued after the switch was started.
We can’t reissue any codes so you must get the referrer to give you the code again or get a new one for you. The code must be issued before the switch has started for the claim to be valid.
Your data is transferred from your web browser to a referral system hosted by and managed by Simply Thank You by means of an encrypted data format (SSL). The data warehouse is protected by a set of physical firewalls including intrusion detection. Your data is stored on the referral system in the data warehouse in an encrypted format and is only made available to the system administrators and securely shared with Santander UK for the purposes of validating your claim. The referral system data will not be transferred outside the European Union.
